Update on Tom Felton’s new WWII film, “Grace and Danger” – including a new development trailer and script excerpt featuring Tom’s character

Feltbeats.com previously informed you about Tom Felton’s involvement with the pre-production World War II movie, “Grace and Danger” (previously called “Cold Blood Kill”).

Tom is set to play Carnaby, an American soldier who is described as a gentleman. In the movie, Carnaby and his fellow soldiers rescue a young woman named Élodie from a village massacre and plan to escort her back to safety. But during the perilous journey, the other soldiers seem to become quite “interested” in the girl, and Carnaby steps in to aid her.

In the following snippet (which is part of a larger scene and was provided to us by writer and director Rhys Hayward), Carnaby is trying to protect Elodie from Sykes, another soldier. Throughout the story, the girl becomes a temptation for all of the soldiers.

Élodie pauses for a beat then begins to wolf down the food, devouring every last morsel.

Sykes studies her, intrigued, and more than a little excited to be in the company of a young woman. He seems slightly intense at first, but this impression belies his harmless nature.

SYKES: She’s pretty, ain’t she? Even when she eats like that.

CARNABY: F**k decorum. For all we know, she probably hasn’t eaten for days. Hell weeks, even.

SYKES: Nah. She was busy getting on with her day, like everyone else in that village. ‘Till the Krauts came along and f****d it all to hell. I bet she’s eaten more recently than we have.

CARNABY: I doubt it.

Sykes starts stroking her hair.

She looks around at him, wide-eyed, as if suddenly threatened by the undue attention. She stops eating. He continues to stroke her hair, in a world of his own.

CARNABY (CONT’D): Give her some space, Sykes, will ya?

SYKES: What you being like that for? Maybe she likes a bit of company.

Sykes continues, unabated. Carnaby is close to reaching boiling point.

CARNABY: Hey, I said cut it out!

SYKES: Why? I ain’t hurting her. What’s it to you?

Carnaby grabs Syke’s wrist, and pushes his hand away. He stares at Sykes with hostile eyes, keen to show him he means business.

CARNABY: Doesn’t need you pawing her like she’s a goddamned plaything – that’s why. Keep your hands to yourself, dammit. She ain’t a pet.

A improved development trailer has just been released in order to generate interest and gain funding for full production. It is meant to portray the atmosphere of “Grace and Danger,” and this footage will not be used in the final film. Tom is NOT in this trailer, so don’t kill yourself looking for him.

This is a phrase I’d love to hear, you know? Nothing gets more detestful than being perceived as a toy! Can’t wait to see that scene on the screen, and to hear it coming from Tom’s very mouth!

    Sam.

    • Happy Saint-Thomas Day*, btw! 😀

*In France, we’ve the habit to wish anyone’s Feast, on the day of their Saint’s, as it is given on the calendar. Therefore, today’s Thomas. 😉

  2. ME TOO im so excited to hear his american accent
and i dont care if its rated R im watching it!!!
    (yes im underage!!) 😆

  3. I’m thinking his accent will be either southern or neutral. I’m leaning more towards southern. Either way, i can’t wait to hear him!
    🙂

    • The director told me that Carnaby is from Idaho, but yet he has traveled around the US a lot so his accent could be very neutral. But I assume they will probably discuss it and see what Tom can do! Tom has been going to that voice coach to learn various accents, so I’m sure he can pull anything off! =)

    Interesting…
Even if this “trailer” was a little bit to slow…
A bit more action would be better …
