“Grace and Danger” director hints at sequel featuring Tom Felton

If you’re a fan of “Grace and Danger” on Facebook, you’ve gotten a new message from the the movie’s director, Rhys Hayward.

This is the planned World War II movie in which Tom Felton is set to play an American “gentleman,” a soldier named Carnaby.

The movie, which is still in pre-production stage, follows a group of soldiers including Tom’s character, Carnaby, as they rescue a young woman named Élodie from a village massacre and plan to escort her back to safety. But during the perilous journey, the other soldiers seem to become quite “interested” in the girl, and Carnaby steps in to aid her.

The director’s note read partly reads:

I’ve been waiting for agents to get back to me, but I don’t have the clout that Bay & Co. have and so I have to wait a little longer for replies to my e-mails etc. A major drag! Incidentally, managed to get the script to the agent of Isabel Lucas (Transformers 2) a few weeks back. Sadly, they didn’t like the idea of her getting caked in mud, and traveling alone in the company of some rugged soldier types. Surely this is every girls dream come true?! Well, maybe not Isabel’s!… So, the search for a suitable actress to play “Elodie” continues… Will have some news once the various agents have come back to me.

WALL POSTS:
A big thank you to all those adding wall posts – it’s great to get feedback and makes the group feel like it’s “alive”! It takes a mammoth amount of effort to get a film off the ground, and any form of positive feedback is a great source of encouragement. Keep ’em coming:)

GnD 2:
In my “down time” I’ve been busy penning the sequel script. G & D 1 does have an ending, but it’s not the final conclusion to the story for the characters – the journey really continues and reaches its fulfillment in the sequel.

… Will provide more updates as developments occur. Thanks again for supporting Grace and Danger! Will be back next week – wishing you all a fabulous weekend!!!

Feltbeats.com caught up with Rhys and asked about the sequel. Rhys confirmed that Tom’s character, Carnaby, was definitely in the sequel and he would love to have Tom back to play the part!

So, let’s all do what we can to support this film and help the sequel! 🙂

Rhys also posted another announcement about casting for this film:

Pleased to announce that Joel Beckett is now officially a member of the G & D cast. His credits include “Eve,” “The Big I Am,” and “Band of Brothers.” UK members of the group will probably recognize him from “The Office” and “East Enders.” He delivered a flawless U.S. accent at the auditions last year, and we’re really chuffed to have him on board.

Special thanks to Laurence Fuller, who oversaw and arranged all the auditions for key parts last year – thanks also to Misha Crosby and George Francis for their assistance.

G & D CREW:
For those not familiar with the world of prosthetic design… please check out the link I’ve added to the G & D group links. This will take you to John Schoonraad’s company website (LifeCast) – he’ll be handling all the prosthetic FX work on G & D. His formidable CV includes the following movies:

  • Saving Private Ryan
  • Gladiator
  • 13 Hours
  • Black Hawk Down
  • Kick-Ass
  • Rambo

… and loads more!!! Please check out his site if you get time. Lots of pics of him with the actors from those movies.

Thanks, Rhys! We love that you’re keeping us up to date on the film!

  1. Tom deserves to be in another movie. did u know he was considered for the roles of Riley and Alec in New Moon? and that he got neither?!?! comment if u think this is unfair.

  2. I for one am glad that Isabel Lucus did not accept the role. Transformers 2 or no Transformers 2 …anyone who has watched Home and Away (crappy aussie soap) will no that the girl has no talent

    • Actually, when I thought of Elodie, I immediately thought of Isabel Lucas. Although she wasn’t a top notch actress in Home & Away, she still has room to grow.
Its a pity though… perhaps someone like Mia Wasikowska would be another excellent choice 😀

  3. I hope they will find soon the suitable Elodie to play alongside Tom, and that they’ll both play into the sequel as well. I’d love to find out what’s going to become of their characters, how their relationship is going to evolve…

    With Love,

    Sam.

  4. Don’t mean to be a downer, but a million movies a year make it to preproduction and never get any further. I hope Rhys gets more money and producers soon. Penning a sequal is well and good, but the first movie has to make a profit or no studio wil back a second. I used to think it was 1-2-3 get a script, some money, a director and BINGO – actors are easiest to find after all, and the MOVIE is made. Alas, it takes years and rewriting and lot and lots of money. Wish them the best and I would love to see Tom as a soldier.

  5. I love seeing the actors in Harry Potter in other movies. It’s great to see different sides of their talent.

But, I think he’ll always be Draco Malfoy to me (and that’s okay!) I can’t wait to see other movies he’s in though 🙂

  6. i want to hear tom’s “American accent” u think u could get a vid. or recording of it?? just curious about what it would sound like. I cant see him with an american accent. LOL what if he got a southern accent?? haha that would b hilarious! but yeah, i want to hear what it sounds like. 🙂
