This is the planned World War II movie in which Tom Felton is set to play an American “gentleman,” a soldier named Carnaby.
The movie, which is still in pre-production stage, follows a group of soldiers including Tom’s character, Carnaby, as they rescue a young woman named Élodie from a village massacre and plan to escort her back to safety. But during the perilous journey, the other soldiers seem to become quite “interested” in the girl, and Carnaby steps in to aid her.
The director’s note read partly reads:
I’ve been waiting for agents to get back to me, but I don’t have the clout that Bay & Co. have and so I have to wait a little longer for replies to my e-mails etc. A major drag! Incidentally, managed to get the script to the agent of Isabel Lucas (Transformers 2) a few weeks back. Sadly, they didn’t like the idea of her getting caked in mud, and traveling alone in the company of some rugged soldier types. Surely this is every girls dream come true?! Well, maybe not Isabel’s!… So, the search for a suitable actress to play “Elodie” continues… Will have some news once the various agents have come back to me.
A big thank you to all those adding wall posts – it’s great to get feedback and makes the group feel like it’s “alive”! It takes a mammoth amount of effort to get a film off the ground, and any form of positive feedback is a great source of encouragement. Keep ’em coming:)
In my “down time” I’ve been busy penning the sequel script. G & D 1 does have an ending, but it’s not the final conclusion to the story for the characters – the journey really continues and reaches its fulfillment in the sequel.
… Will provide more updates as developments occur. Thanks again for supporting Grace and Danger! Will be back next week – wishing you all a fabulous weekend!!!
Feltbeats.com caught up with Rhys and asked about the sequel. Rhys confirmed that Tom’s character, Carnaby, was definitely in the sequel and he would love to have Tom back to play the part!
So, let’s all do what we can to support this film and help the sequel! 🙂
Rhys also posted another announcement about casting for this film:
Pleased to announce that Joel Beckett is now officially a member of the G & D cast. His credits include “Eve,” “The Big I Am,” and “Band of Brothers.” UK members of the group will probably recognize him from “The Office” and “East Enders.” He delivered a flawless U.S. accent at the auditions last year, and we’re really chuffed to have him on board.
Special thanks to Laurence Fuller, who oversaw and arranged all the auditions for key parts last year – thanks also to Misha Crosby and George Francis for their assistance.
G & D CREW:
For those not familiar with the world of prosthetic design… please check out the link I’ve added to the G & D group links. This will take you to John Schoonraad’s company website (LifeCast) – he’ll be handling all the prosthetic FX work on G & D. His formidable CV includes the following movies:
- Saving Private Ryan
- 13 Hours
- Black Hawk Down
… and loads more!!! Please check out his site if you get time. Lots of pics of him with the actors from those movies.
Thanks, Rhys! We love that you’re keeping us up to date on the film!
