Tom Felton’s “Breakout Performance” in “Half-Blood Prince”

Two new reviews concerning Tom’s film Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince have recently found their way online. The Prague Post, the Czech-Republic’s English newspaper calls his portrayal as Draco Malfoy in HP6 a “breakout performance.”

But he comes into his own here, as a tortured coward struggling unsuccessfully to face his fears and become what he mistakenly conceives to be a man.

As for The Statesman, it looks like Tom had them rooting for the “bad guy.”

Tom Felton was exceptionally good in the movie. He presented Draco’s emotions so vividly that the sympathy of the audience changed from the Chosen One to the Dark Lord’s newest recruit.

  3. So happy Feltbeats is back, I missed my daily fix!

It is great that TF is generating so much good press, it’s time the world gets it that there are more cool characters than the trio in these films.

  4. Tom made me feel soo bad for Malfoy, he played him perfectly I dont think anyone else but Tom could have done as good.

  5. I’m glad he’s finally getting some actual (professional) critical acclaim… I hadn’t yet see any one reviewer single him out in their review for his incredible performance, so this is lovely.
