(UPDATE) Tom Felton, Daniel Radcliffe, & Matt Lewis Participate in Cricket Match Held in Honor of Friend David Holmes

UPDATE: A clearer photo from this event has recently been placed online. It has also been stated that besides Tom, Dan, and Matt, Alfie Enoch, Bonnie Wright, and Evanna Lynch were also in attendance for the game. Thanks, Chris!

Cast and crew of the Harry Potter films participated in a cricket match today at Ealing Cricket Club in honor of David Holmes, the stuntman seriously injured in January while filming a harnessed aerial sequence for the final installment of the film franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The event was not open to the public.

According to Matthew Lewis’ Twitter:

A well deserved win in the cricket today for Team Gryffindor. Thanks to Team Slytherin for playing us. We won by 4 wickets.

Good play, both teams, as they both won, in my books, by raising over £10,000 for charity! [That’s US$ 16,504! and, incidentally, almost covers my tuition.]

We also raised over £10,000 for charity 😀 now I’ve gotta go to sleep, g’nite! X

CONGRATS TO BOTH OF THE TEAMS. And sweet dreams, Matt.

  1. What a lovely thought & gesture for David from his friends from Harry Potter.
Hope they all enjoyed themselves especially David.
It just shows how close the cast & crew are like one big family.

  2. It is so nice to see that the cast of HP support each other. Way to go Dan, Tom, and Matt. And everyone else who was there. Good Job. 🙂

  3. Assuming it was Slyth vs Gryff then, since Tom n dan r in opposing colours (as per usual) 😛

  4. If I had to guess? A little bit to the left of David.

    Looks like him, anyway.

This looked like a lot of fun!:)

  5. Go, go Gryffindor! This is really cool for them to do that for their stuntman friend, and it must make everyone that works with them really proud. I hope David gets better soon!

  6. What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon–having a great time playing cricket and doing it in honour of a good friend. Bless ’em all, and especially David! 🙂 Go Gryffindor!

  7. Olha alguém q fla português!!!!!!!N estou sozinha!

Anyway, that was sooooo sweet, wish David the best luck in the world!

  8. I just saw the “Go go Gryffindor” thing (?) and I just have to say that this little phrase made me fall for Harry Potter and after for Tom Felton… That happen back in 2004… I was 8 XD

  9. Funny, that amount covers a big part of my tuition as well. 😛 I’m pleased that they were able to raise that much as well. Must have been quite the game.

  10. Nicely resumed. What a lovely news to read upon one’s awaking. Tom’s on David’s left, wearing a black shirt. Congratulations, Gryffindor! And nice going, Slytherin!

    With Love,

    Sam.

  11. This is very heart-warming, indeed! At times we can be fairly oblivious that anything severe could happen to the best of people in their line of work. As devastating as it is, I’m very thankful that David is possibly overcoming his tragedy. It takes caring hearts from friends like Dan, Tom and Matthew to do special things like this to honor their friend. And with that care they show a major difference in one’s life.

Many thanks to you all! *major hugs*

  12. Thats awesome that they would do that for a friend also very heart-warming.That must of been fun to! ^.^ Ive cricket is quite a fun game so it must have been some what exciting!! 🙂
