FILMINK’s Pic of the Day – Tom Felton / Everyone loves the bad guy…

Thanks to Cara Nash from the Australia Movie Magazine FILMINK for the tip that Tom is on their site “Pic of the Day“.

While fans probably can’t imagine another actor playing Harry Potter’s archrival, Draco Malfoy, Tom Felton originally auditioned for the roles of Harry and Ron. The British actor was of course cast as the cowardly bully Draco, but throughout the series, Felton has invested him with just enough spark, mischief and the occasional sympathetic moment, that he became the misunderstood bad guy many a fan secretly liked. Like his co-stars, audiences have seen Felton grow up on screen, with the actor featuring in every one of the franchise’s films since 2001 and who will now help close the journey with the final instalment, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, out this week. Prior to playing a wizard, Felton’s first role came in Peter Hewitt’s charming children’s film The Borrowers, and he was then cast as Jodie Foster’s son in Anna and the King. Seemingly not phased with being typecast, Felton is set to take on another villainous role in Rupert Wyatt’s upcoming sci-fi film Rise of the Planet of the Apes alongside James Franco. Felton plays Dodge, a uh… dodgy character who helps operate a Primate Sanctuary, which is actually run more like a shoddy prison where unwanted apes are dumped. It’s here that the apes break free and wreak havoc. Looking to flex his acting muscles, upcoming films for the actor include the sporting drama From the Rough, the horror film The Apparition, and the war drama Grace and Danger.
