Update: Apparently Lilyginny27 posted this a few days ago. LOL! But, I think a lot of us (including myself, obviously) missed it, so it’s probably good we’ve posted it twice! 😉
A really cute interview has been posted by Seventeen Magazine (in the dating section – hmm!). It is very revealing! I didn’t know most of this stuff, did you?
Thanks so much to @arikagranger of Magical-Menagerie.com for pointing out the post to us!
How old were you when you had your first kiss?
I think I was 12, and it was Spin the Bottle. Everyone was like, “Have you been kissed before?” And I was like, “Yeah, I’m a professional!” I was so nervous, and the bottle landed on me. The kiss was okay, but not too memorable.
Who’s your celebrity crush?
Megan Fox. I’m being suckered in by the Transformers pictures right now. I’ve seen her on the red carpet and in pictures, and she does look gorgeous. I’m glad my girlfriend’s not in the room to hear me say that.
What’s the girl fashion trend that confuses the heck out of you?
That punk look where girls wear boys’ shirts and skinny jeans. It’s almost to the point where you don’t know if they’re female or not. I like my ladies lady-ish, feminine so to speak. I love jeans and hoodies, but the idea of being an ultimate tomboy does slightly confuse me.
What’s the chick flick you secretly love?
The Notebook. My girlfriend got me into it, but the way the story is told is beautiful. I’ve watched it about three or four times now. I didn’t cry, even though my girlfriend was crying all the way through it. It wasn’t a sad film; it was a beautiful film.
What’s your TV guilty pleasure?
Here’s one that not even my girlfriend knows. She makes me watch all sorts of things, and Gossip Girl is her favorite program. She’s die-hard for Gossip Girl. So she’s made me watch it for three or four episodes now, but now when she’s not there, I watch it alone.
Who would play you in the movie version of your life?
I’ll be hugely arrogant and say Brad Pitt. No! It’s impossible to say — Robert Pattinson? Well, I’d like to say myself, really. I don’t think there’s anyone out there who could quite embody me — although I am a big fan of lots of British actors.
What’s your dream job?
Probably singing and songwriting — I love the guitar. I put a video on YouTube about a year ago and it went crazy. It’s a hobby, but it doesn’t overtake acting. I love the idea that no matter what happens with all this, in 20 years time, if I have to sing on the street corner for a bit of money every day, then I can do it.
If you could trade places with anyone in the world for one day, who would it be?
I’d love to be in Paul McCartney’s shoes for a day. I’d love to pick up a guitar and write songs like he does. Or to experience what it might have been like to be a Beatle for a day. There are lots of musicians whose shoes I’d like to step into for a day — I’d like to see how the craziness of their lives differs from the Harry Potter madness.
Who in your family are you closest to?
I’ve got to say my mom. She’s the one who’s kept me going over the years; she made sure I was okay in my early years. For about a year now, I’ve been living with my older brother. We enjoy each other’s company — it’s a lot of fun.
What’s your favorite Web site?
There was a fan site started a couple of years ago called feltbeats.com, and they have been so helpful personally. They tell me what I’m doing when I don’t even know what’s going on! They’ll be like, “Oh, did you know you’re doing a store appearance in Canada next week?” They do it all out of the goodness of their own hearts, and I’m very grateful.
What’s the fast food you can’t live without?
It’s funny, because obviously we stay in lots of nice places. Today when we checked in, the room service menu was quite extensive, and they offered us anything we wanted. And I said, “All I want to do is go to McDonald’s!” So I walked two blocks there.
What’s your worst habit?
I’m terrible at texting people back. It takes me like three days. I’m not a big phone person.
What’s the last song you listened to on your iPod?
Green Day’s “Last Night on Earth” off their new album. I’m also a real Jack Johnson fan. But I have really strange taste. I love hard-core hip-hop, like Method Man’s new album, but I also like classical. Wherever the mood takes me — I like to dive into new musical fields. When I listened to hip-hop at an early age, my grandpa used to say that my ears would mature and I would grow out of it. And I was like, “Never! I’m not going to like classical.” But now I do. It’s what happens, we grow into our parents!
What’s the last thing you bought?
I bought a new car before I came out here. Technically, I bought McDonald’s two hours ago, but the car was the last substantial thing. I’m not a big splurger of money, but my guilty pleasures do lie within BMWs. I get roped in.
What did you dream about last night?
Before I came out here, a lady friend gave me a plant for good luck. I don’t really know how to care for plants, so I asked my brother if he could look after the plant. Then I had a dream that the plant grew like Jack-and-the-Beanstalk style. I went home and it was 20 feet high! I don’t know what that’s trying to tell me, whether my plant’s in danger or I’m not sure. It was like Harry Potter — a magical plant!
How much money is in your wallet right now?Nothing, literally! All I carry is cards. I don’t have a penny on me, it’s not great. I’m going to be ultra-noncelebrity and say nothing. But I’m not usually a massive spender. All I need is fuel for the car and a bit of food for my belly. And as long as my Chesapeake Bay retriever, Timber, is fed. She’s the love of my life.
Fill in the blank: When I was 17, I was ____________.Interested in passing my driving lessons. I took my test about two weeks after I turned 17, and that was the best birthday of my life. It took me three attempts, might I add, but I got it in the end!
i bet ur a better driver than me! to all honestness i almost hit a stop sign! i get so nervous when im behind the wheel and my dad was tell me now you gotta turn and i got really nervous and jerked the whell and we went up the curb!!XD

So sorry I left you off! You definitely did send it to us first! I added you at the top! And no worries, we always want to credit appropriately so don’t worry about nagging. =)
aw! its the simple things in life that mean so much.
awww…u brought a car..hey i love BMWs…but A Jag comes first to me..its wise to carry a little bit of cash..and i love Gossip Girl..its good u know..megan fox..ahem! cough cough!..where’s jade?does any 1 know her cell number..this cud b an emergency..heheheheh..shud we rat him out?
The plant anecdote isn’t without reminding me a similar one, occurring with a white rosebush, my grandgrand-mother planted and named after me years ago in her garden. Every year, when it blossoms, the roses are growing up towards Heaven, a bit taller every time. I think the grownth of either plant stands for spiritual grownth.
With Love,
Sam.
Is this where I add that I posted this a few days ago? Where’s my credit? lol 😉 Oh, you added it in, now. Thanks =P
And Barbiechick3004 was the one that told me 😉 =P
Great interview! 😉 x
Haha Best dream ever!! If I had dreamed it I would have attempted to climb it and see where I ended up!! Maybe with a goose that lays golden eggs?!? How cool would that be!! knowing my luck though I would just finish climbing the plant and then wake up.
However thinking about what it means….maybe it means nothing..or maybe since the plant was supposed to be for luck it symbolized your luck growing because of your trust in family members?? ..just an Idea. =)
Steph
I love The Notebook too! Awesome interview, Tom! (P.S. Come to Canada again soon! We loved having you!)
