I have to say it is a very good picture of Tom. It could be viewed as hiding his laughter or smile or caught in a moment of sadness he wishes not to be seen. Very poetic.
I rather thought of someone hiding its face when one did a mistake and is aware of it, than actually hiding a laughter, or a smile, or even sadness, when I saw it on Twitter.
