Warwick Davis credits Tom Felton for getting him started on Twitter

In a new interview with Snitchseeker.com, Warwick Davis – who plays Flitwick, Griphook, and several other characters in the Harry Potter franchise – talked about Tom Felton as the reason he signed up for Twitter.

He said:

Snitchseeker.com: Why did you join Twitter?

Warwick Davis: Why did I join Twitter? Because of Tom Felton. It was his fault. (laughs) Not his fault.

We were sitting there on set – we spend lots of time sitting – and I said, “What are you up to there, texting and texting?” and he said, “Oh no, I’m on Twitter.” And I said, “What is this Twitter about?” and then he started to explain it. I said, “They’re interested in what you do?” and he said, “Oh yeah, I’ve got loads of followers.” He told me the app to get and he told me how to do it and I started doing it. It was really good fun. It’s quite interesting collecting followers – “Ooh, I’ve got that many now.”

I follow him and few of the other Potters. James and Oliver are on there. Matt Lewis hasn’t done any tweeting for ages.

So that’s why I did it. I just want to let people know what I’m up to because people are interested. We do these Q&A’s – it’s normally Potter fans. I’ll spend half an hour, because I’m in between whatever I’m doing, and it’s just a Q&A. It’s fun. But it is all the Potter fans.

Snitchseeker.com met up with Mr. Davis while he was promoting his new book, Size Matters Not. It is available from Amazon here.

Happy Birthday, Jade!

Today Tom’s girlfriend Jade celebrates her 23rd birthday, and we at Feltbeats.com would like to give her a HUGE “Happy Birthday!”

Over the years, we’ve celebrated many birthdays related to Tom here: Including our own (we are almost two, awww), Tom’s dog Timber’s (Two years old, Three years old), and of course, a few for Tom himself (21st birthday, 22nd birthday). And this is our second birthday celebration for Jade! Amazing how time flies, isn’t it?

Jade, we hope you have a lovely birthday!

Tom Felton and Tom Fletcher collude on Twitter

Just in case you missed it, we want to make sure everyone is aware of the mischievous plot underway between Tom Felton and McFly bandmember Tom Fletcher.

It seems Tom Fletcher was reading Heat magazine and saw that they offer 200 quid for sending in a picture of a celebrity to their “Spotted” column. And then he started thinking…

tommcfly: Is there a rule to stop me sending in a picture of myself to heat coz I could make 200 quid every week. @Tommcfly spotted spotting himself.

TomFelton: @tommcfly thats exactly what i thought!

tommcfly: @TomFelton we could start a little business on the side. I’ll spot you, you spot me. We’ll be rich, filthy rich!

TomFelton: @tommcfly sounds like a plan! be on the lookout …

tommcfly: @TomFelton …i see you…

tommcfly: @TomFelton just kidding…that’d be creepy though

tommcfly: This morning I seriously thought the world was about to end. Volcanoes, Earthquakes and Justin Beiber wasn’t a TT! Madness!!

TomFelton: tommcfly ok its getting creepy i feel…back to volcanoes and beiber

tommcfly: I just saw something in my garden…looked suspiciously similar to @TomFelton…put that camera down!

TomFelton: tommcfly ill come back later. If you could be wearing women’s clothing and playing your guitar by your bedroom window that would be great! x

You can see their whole conversation here on Bettween.com. Thanks guys, you gave us all some laughs. =)

Tom Felton talks Harry Potter during live webcast with Film Club

As we informed you before, earlier today Tom participated in a live webcast with Film Club, where he discussed the industry, his character, and the entire Potter franchise that has made him famous around the world.

Thanks to our friends atSnitchseeker.com, we have a nice little overview of some of the topics that were discussed:

  • Tom talked about Draco’s dancing in Goblet of Fire, saying that he rehearsed for four weeks, but maybe a few seconds were shown on screen.
  • He spoke about auditioning for Draco’s role, including the fact that he made up knowing anything about the books when director Chris Columbus questioned him and other Draco prospectives.
  • He said his biggest personal achievement was playing in Soccer Aid a couple of a years back (though notes he’s terrible at football – soccer), but he was there to “boost the appeal of younger kids.” He said he was nervous at playing in Wembley stadium, and playing along soccer greats.
  • Tom said he’d love to work with all the Harry Potter directors, with Tom Hanks (as actor or director, like his project “That Thing You Do”).
  • Tom does not generally watch his earlier features, though his friends put it on television to poke fun at him. He finds it bizarre to see himself at such a young age, thinking how long ago it was.
