Tom Felton makes Formula E debut at Evo Sessions in Miami

The ground-breaking Evo Sessions event concludes in Miami – which saw Tom Felton step behind the wheel of the Envision Racing GEN 3 Evo at the Miami International Autodrome Circuit.
World renowned actor, Tom Felton, stepped out of his comfort zone and successfully completed the 20-minute session around the Hard Rock Stadium – whilst having a lot of fun in the cockpit.
Prior to the event, Tom undertook extensive training with the Envision Racing squad, visiting the Silverstone HQ to complete simulator sessions, prepare his racing seat and then get a taste of electric racing cars when he stepped into the world first electric 2-seater car.
Development and Test driver Alice Powell kept a watchful eye over Envision’s newest team member at Silverstone, coaching him on the simulator as well as during the track day.
Once on the ground in Miami, official driver Sebastien Buemi was on hand to ensure Tom was as prepared as possible for the revolutionary event. Buemi guided Tom during the track walk and shared insights of what it takes to drive a Formula E car.
Tom’s session begun with a three-lap warm up behind the Safety Car, before he had the circuit to himself and got to experience the fastest accelerating single seater car – 30% faster than the current F1 car.
The team welcomed Tom back to the garage with a huge round of applause to congratulate the Harry Potter star on his efforts.
A first of its kind for Formula E – the Evo Sessions event will certainly go down in history, and the team look forward to continuing to have Tom Felton as part of the Envision Racing family.

Tom Felton joins Formula E Evo Sessions line-up

Today, Formula E announced more personalities joining ‘Formula E Evo Sessions’ and Tom Felton joins the line-up.

Tom Felton and various other stars will be racing together at the Miami International Autodrome on 5-6 March 2025.

‘Formula E Evo Sessions’ is a groundbreaking motorsport experience providing 11 global personalities from the worlds of sport, tech, and entertainment an unprecedented opportunity to drive the world’s fastest electric race car – the GEN3 Evo.

Actor Tom Felton said: “I’ve grown up loving wheels my entire life. From my dad teaching me to ride a bicycle to putting my first poster up on my bedroom wall of a supercar. When I learned to drive a car it was the most liberating experience I’ve ever had. Better than a broomstick even.

“From my dad teaching me to feather a clutch in our 1979 Ford Fiesta which he had taught my three older brothers to drive in, to driving my first sports car.

“Nothing could compare to the excitement I have to actually be seated in the driver’s seat of arguably the most exciting vehicle on four wheels on the planet. I know it needs a fifth wheel to steer and I am beyond thrilled to be given the opportunity to do so.

“I’ll play it cool on the day obviously but my inner nine-year-old self will be screaming with joy the moment I get even close to the Formula E car – let alone get to actually drive one! It’ll be a pinch myself, dream-come-true moment and I will make the most of every second.”
