Tom Felton discusses Draco with Aced Magazine

This is a teaser report from the set of Half-Blood Prince where Tom had talked about Draco Malfoy with Aced Magazine.

Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) has a bigger role in Half-Blood Prince so we get to see a little more from his character this time around. “Draco has slightly more of a central plot as far as good and evil. I think that for the last sort of five years he’s always been very envious that Harry is the chosen one. I think that he’s given the opportunity to be the chosen one for the other guys. At first he laps up the opportunity to do so,” says Felton, “but he has a few internal questions that have difficulty being answered within himself. He doesn’t quite realize the severity of what he’s about to get himself into, nor the lack of confidence that he really has in what he’s trying to achieve.”

We also find out more about Draco in general in this production. “It’s great to find out more about the character and to dive a bit deeper into why he is the way that he is, and this goes into his relationship with his a father a bit more. His father is not around in this film so he feels slightly weaker without him, definitely, but he knows that he’s the man of the Malfoy Manner and so he has to step up his game. It’s a contradiction too. He wants to step up and be the big shot, but equally he knows deep down that he’s not half the man that Harry is, I’m sure,” reveals Felton.

New Tom Felton Interview!

Tom Felton recently spoke about how he would like to pursue some comedic projects as a means to break out of his villainous mold from the Harry Potter films, as well as how much Draco Malfoy has developed in Half-Blood Prince:

Tom admits that he has some comedic timing and would like to show it in future films:

Quote:
“I don’t want to toot one’s horn so to speak, but I think I have the adequate timing and so forth to do comedic roles.

“Something along those lines would definitely interest me… As much as I’d love to play another villain, I do want to show different aspects to me in future roles.”

Felton continued: “You do have to be ever so careful about what you are taking on, but I’m not going to turn my nose up at anything and if something excites me, I’ll do it willingly.”

On Draco’s developing personality in the last two books, Tom had this to say:

Quote:
“Before, Malfoy was always two-dimensional. It’s never gone into depth about why he is like he is.

“The latter books divulge into the depths of his childhood and his relationship with his father. A lot of questions and answered in the upcoming films and it makes playing him a lot more fun. He has much more varied emotions now rather than being a one-trick pony.”

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Feltbeats.com interviews Executive Producer and director of new TV show featuring Tom Felton, “Celebrity Adrenaline Junkie” (Part II)

Feltbeats.com was lucky enough to sit down (electronically) with Craig Pickles, Executive Producer and director of “Jack Osborne: Celebrity Adrenaline Junkie,” a new reality show where Jack Osborne gets a group of celebrities (including Tom Felton) to perform crazy, dangerous stunts. Today we post the second half of our exclusive interview.

“Jack Osbourne: Celebrity Adrenaline Junkie” is ITV2 on Wednesdays at 9pm. Tom’s episode will be the last one shown, at the end of November.

Our Interview

Feltbeats: As director, did you or your crew have to do anything dangerous during your filming with Tom?

Craig Pickles: We are often strapped in next to our celebrities as they take on death defying challenges, purely in order to film them. But on this particular shoot, Tom, Jack, Gemma and Wendi bore the brunt of the danger and that’s just fine by me!

Feltbeats: What are some of the funniest moments involving Tom we should expect to see on the show?

CP: One word: Ostrich!

Feltbeats: Was Tom wearing any good luck charms that you know of?

CP: I believe he had a photograph of his girlfriend with him at all times.

Feltbeats: What would you want Tom Felton fans to know about Tom, now that you’ve spent time with him?

CP: He’s really not cruel or mean spirited in any way (like his Potter character). He was an absolute stand up, rock solid, enthusiastic, hilarious guy who helped make the shoot one of the best I have ever been on across four seasons.

Feltbeats: Lastly, Tom has recently released some original music on the internet where he sang and played the guitar. Have you heard it, and if so, what do you think? Did he bring his guitar to film the show in South Africa?

CP: I have not heard his music, but I did hear a guitar solo through the hotel wall at 5AM after our end of shoot party… if that answers the question.

Feltbeats.com would like to thank Craig Pickles so much! You’re the best!

What do you think?
