Tom Felton at Hampstead Cricket Celebrity Match – a report by Emily

Yesterday we reported here that Tom was at a celebrity match at Hampstead Cricket Club. Emily met him there and now we have a little report from her about this wonderful day.

I arrived a The Cumberland Lawn Tennis club and Hampstead Cricket Club at around 1pm. The club’s chairman is the actor Jim Carter who is married to Imelda Staunton (Umbridge!!!) and every year they run a celebrity charity cricket match!

When I first arrived I was shaking, I honestly never thought I would have the chance to meet Tom! Tom was absolutely lovely and he signed autograph books and smiled for photographs with fans and cricket players of the club!

The match started and Tom bowled the first over! Although I know very little about cricket the game was very enjoyable to watch (probably because I was sitting just metres away from Tom)! There was also a BBQ, cake stalls, a craft stall and other activities which we enjoyed during the day!

At half time I was lucky enough to talk to Tom again! This time we chatted about Timber, his dog! I was all so unreal, Tom was so friendly and easy to talk to, not at all how you’d expect a celebrity to be! I also had the chance to meet and talk to actors from the ITV drama Downton abbey in the break!

The second half of the match was just as enjoyable as the first and Tom batted with style and scored many runs!

At the end of the match there was an auction and I was standing right next to Tom as various items were auctioned off! Tom was bidding for a framed photograph of all the Downton Abbey cast (he had told me earlier he was a fan of the show) but unfortunately after his bid of £350 was overtaken Tom resigned from the bid and it went to somebody else at £380 (BOOOO) 🙁 However Tom did buy some lovely flowers at the auction for £50 (a present for Jade maybe?)

Overall it was an unforgettable day and meeting Tom was the most magical thing! Dreams really do come true!

Emily 🙂 xxx

Thanks again to Emily!

And we have more photos of Tom with fans:

Thanks to Stephen, Owen, Jess, Jen and Helene for the photos.
