Thanks to UniversHarryPotter for the scan of Tom in the latest French edition of Premiere Magazine. The current issue includes a slew of new interviews featuring Tom, Evanna Lynch, Dan Radcliffe, Billy Nighy and others from the cast of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I”. You can see the rest of the interviews along with new photos at the source. As soon as a translation of Tom’s interview is made available, we’ll let you know.

In a series of small articles on Tom’s New Orleans-based indie film “From the Rough,” we now have a few more interesting tidbits about the production to share with you. First, Tom’s character has a name (*gasp, I know!*) and it is the ever ubiquitous Edward. Here’s hoping Tom gets to have a bit of a tan in this film so the Pale-English-Boy-as-Edward jokes can be nipped in the butt early.
Tom Felton is back in the states, but not to cast a spell.
Instead, the 22-year-old British actor is looking for a few hole-in-ones in From The Rough. Tom is set to play Edward, a British golf hustler, who is recruited by Cassandra Turner (Taraji P. Henson), a women’s swim coach at an African American university who gets a shot at rebuilding the men’s golf team.
We also have learned that filming is taking place in locations throughout New Orleans for the next month, including scenes filmed at its historic Tad Gormley Stadium.
“Harry Potter” actor Tom Felton — best known to audiences as “Potter” antagonist Draco Malfoy — has traded his magic wand for a golf club, joining the cast of the New Orleans-shot drama “From the Rough.”
The movie is inspired by the real-life story of Catana Starks, the first female head coach of a Division I men’s golf team. Finding it all but impossible to recruit American players to the golf team at the historically black Tennessee State University, Starks wound up filled out her roster by recruited players from around the globe.
Taraji P. Henson, who earned a supporting-actress Oscar nomination for her role in the New Orleans-shot “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” plays the movie’s Starks character (renamed “Cassandra Turner” for the film). Felton plays one of her young charges.
He joins a cast that includes Paul Hodge, Ben Youcef, Rowan Joseph, Robert Earl Bailey Jr. and — in a coincidental alignment of supernatural-movie stars — “Twilight” actor Justin Chon.
Pierre Bagley is directing, and Jason Sciavicco of the New Orleans-based Horizon Entertainment is producing.
Good thing Tom can take a good joke. Already we’re seeing the “swapped wands for golf clubs” jokes abound on all fronts, including from Mr. Felton himself! Will this new, much longer phallic symbol bring as many, if not more accolades as its predecessor? Only time will tell. 😉
Tom changed today his avatar for his Twitter account again. He uploaded a previously unreleased image from his photoshoot with Christopher Floyd that was done for Chris’s Great Twitter Portrait Project.
