Tom to star in Sara Sugarman’s new film “Save the Cinema”

ScreenDaily has announced that Tom will star in Sara Sugarman‘s new film Save the Cinema alongside Jonathan Pryce and Samantha Morton.

Currently filming in Wales, Save the Cinema is the true story of hairdresser and youth theatre leader Elizabeth Myrtle Evans MBE, who undertook a campaign to save the Lyric Theatre from closure, with the help of the Mayor of Carmarthen Richard Goodridge.

The Lyric Theatre managed to secure a release of Steven Spielberg’s classic film Jurassic Park alongside the London premiere a day before wide-spread release. In London a ticket cost more than £100, and the Lyric Theatre charged the regular amount for a ticket in the 1990s: £2.50.

The film is aiming to be released in cinemas and via Sky Cinema towards the end of 2021.
