Tom Felton in Russ’ & Ed Sheeran’s new music video – out now

The video is out now.

“Are You Entertained” is a project by Russ & Ed Sheeran in memory of Jamal Edwards (He passed away in February after a heart attack aged just 31.)

I’m so grateful for this moment. I walked up to Ed at a restaurant (Carbone) and assumed he didn’t know who I was. Just wanted to introduce myself and say what’s up. Next thing I know I’m eating pasta and drinking wine at his table talkin bout everything. Fast forward and we had this song and we wanted to shoot a video to it so he introduced me to Jamal Edwards, a brilliant visionary and special soul who wrote the treatment for the video. We went back and forth on ideas and we were all super excited. The day before we were supposed to fly out to London we got the tragic news that Jamal had passed away. I had never met Jamal other than those emails but I can tell he was a special person. The way Ed, Jamal’s mother Brenda, his sister Tanisha, the director Jake Nava, the producer Ali and everyone else who worked on this rallied together and still wanted to make Jamal’s vision come to life, showed the impact he had. All I wanted to do was make sure I did my part in facilitating making his exact treatment come to life. I’m just beyond grateful that all of y’all let me be apart of something so special. Special thank you to everyone who made this happen and thank you to Brenda Edwards for being such a warrior of love and light. RIP Jamal Edwards

I was having dinner in New York in December when @russ came up to my table, I was a fan so we just sat and ate pasta and drink wine together. A few days later I sent him the rough idea for this song, the same day he emailed me back with it finished, which I loved. He said we should do a video, so I hit up @jamaledwards, knowing that he would create something incredible for us. Jamal then planned it out for the next couple of months, sending me locations, ideas, cameos, trying to make it the best video any of us could make. We were meant to shoot in February, but the day before Russ flew out, Jamal tragically died. Our whole world was upside down, and I had to cancel and just tell Russ it wasn’t happening, but he was so so understanding, to a level il never forget. Jamals mum @brendaedwardsglobal and sister @Tanisha.arts_ , a few weeks later said we should still try and make Jamals vision come to life, so with the help of his amazing production team at @radicalmedia_london and @jakenava directing, we shot it. I felt so sad on the day, but very proud. I wish Jam was here to see it, I wish we’d done it together, but he would be buzzing how all his people came together and brought his vision to life. Russ, thanks for being such an amazing human, and thank you to everyone who made this video happen. Jamal lives on forever. Are you entertained out now x

IFC Midnight Releases New Trailer For “Burial”

Earlier today, IFC Films released the trailer for “Burial” from their horror genre label IFC Midnight. The latest film to star Tom Felton arrives in theaters and on demand on September 2nd.

Set in the last days of WWll, “Burial” tells the fictional story of a small band of soldiers tasked with delivering the remains of Hitler back to Stalin in Russia. After the unit is attacked by Werewolves, aka German soldiers operating behind enemy lines, a female intelligence officer leads her surviving comrades in a last stand. This to ensure their cargo does not fall into the wrong hands and hide the truth forever.

Report from the Press Night for The Gunpowder Plot

Tom’s recent project, “The Gunpowder Plot”, is an exciting immersive experience that takes you through Jacobean London during a time of conflict between Catholics and Protestants, focussing on Guy Fawkes (played by Tom) and his part in the attempt to blow up parliament. Before entering the experience Tom’s voice can be heard every so often reciting the famous rhyme, “Remember, remember, the fifth of November” and that certainly adds to the atmosphere and anticipation.

When you enter experience it is as though you are stepping back through time. You find yourself in detailed and atmospheric sets, where even the sound effects in the background help to bring the scene to life. As you travel from set to set, creeping through dimly-lit stone corridors, you are greeted with a variety of real-life characters who interact with you to help you on your journey. You’ll take part in thrilling tasks: solving ciphers, rescuing a priest, carrying props, and remembering information that will help you later. Some parts of the experience are done using virtual reality (VR) where you are required to wear a headset, and be prepared for movement and effects.

Midway through the experience there is a short break during which you are able to relax in The Duck and Drake tavern and discuss your divided loyalties with your co-conspirators. This also gives you the opportunity to have a drink, go to the privy, and snap a couple of photos.

During the second half of the immersive experience Tom’s character, Guy Fawkes/John Johnson, is introduced through a virtual reality experience. Tom has done an excellent job of portraying the tenacious character and during the experience it is as though he is sitting directly opposite you and speaking to you personally. Tom plays a huge part in bringing the story to life as he explains the gunpowder plot and the emotions and struggles behind it while taking you further on your travels and helping you to avoid trouble. While Tom does not physically appear in the experience, another actor with a masked face representing him does appear on one of the sets with Tom’s voice giving the impression that he is present. Tom’s character then appears again in VR to conclude the story before taking you forward through time back into the present day. When the experience comes to an end it is left to you to decide whether Guy Fawkes was a villain or a hero as you exit through the gift shop, but as the heart and soul of The Gunpowder Plot experience, Tom is definitely the hero.

She also mentioned:

Unfortunately there were no displays of Tom as Guy Fawkes as I had hoped, it would’ve made an excellent photo. Also we were not allowed our phones during the immersive experience but I have included some photos from the tavern during the interval, where we were allowed a photo opportunity.
