Tom Felton featured on Star Watch

A video recently surfaced from the New York press junket of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and this one features an interview Tom gave with San Hallenbeck of Day Time’s Star Watch. According to their website, Star Watch (USA) is “a fast-paced, rock-solid weekly half-hour show that’s designed for movie lovers, a show that’s about the films they care about and the people who make them. Period.”

The interview featuring Tom was released online over the weekend.

[NOTE: Hallenbeck took information from old interviews to wrap-up the segment. Tom has declared more recently that he plans on pursuing acting, not fishery management. 😉 ]

Ados.fr interview with Tom Felton now online

An interview Tom gave with Ados.fr has officially been uploaded online courtesy of Dailymotion today. The interview was filmed during a press junket Tom attended in Paris for the Fnac Signing Event, and thankfully, is not dubbed over in French. 😉 Tom answers many of the same questions he’s been answering for the past two months, but undoubtedly what he wishes was his one magical power is sublime, and if you ever read his Twitter, you won’t be surprised.

Another Tom Felton interview from Canadian press junket

Another interview has been found of Tom’s from his Canadian press junket, this time from Cineplex.com. You can read the entire article by clicking here:

An excerpt:

The self-described massive Harry Potter fan is in Toronto for less than a day as part of a large-scale, whirlwind press tour in support of the highly anticipated release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Despite obvious jet-lag, Felton is relaxed and quick with a joke or a smile, a relaxed attitude made even more impressive considering he has barely had time to register what city he’s in, never mind the time.

“Good afternoon…or good morning! I’m not sure which it is,” the actor joked, settling into his chair in the posh suite at Toronto’s Royal York Hotel.

Sitting amid the ever-present Potter paraphernalia of Quidditch t-shirts and edible Hogwarts treats that must accompany him wherever he goes, not to mention the Potter-themed SUV that he has squiring him about town, the actor is eager to get right to the heart of the matter and let people know what they can expect from this latest installment of the wildly popular series.

“It’s funnier! A lot of people are saying it’s darker but I think it’s funnier more than anything,” he offered. “Michael Gambon and Jim Broadbent really lay on that subtle British humour brilliantly and I think Jim Broadbent was a really fabulous addition to the cast.”

And like fans around the world, he’s excited to see how things progress both at Hogwarts and in the romantic lives of the lead characters.

While his character doesn’t have any blossoming romantic relationships on the horizon, fans certainly aren’t shy about expressing their dislike for the activities Draco does get up to, often booing the actor in the streets. While he’s mainly encountered this from North American fans, citing paralyzing politeness for the lack of public British naysayers, he doesn’t take it to heart adding, “I can only take it as a compliment and if I’ve managed to fool them into thinking I’m a horrible child then I must be doing something right!”

Felton would certainly be easy to spot on any street, given the iconic bleached blond ‘do he sports while filming the series. He admits he’s gotten strangely attached to the severe look over the past 10 years and can see himself possibly keeping it once the final films are completed, despite the fact that it’s limited his work outside of the franchise. Even when other opportunities have presented themselves, timing has never quite worked out so instead, he’s committed to filming the final two Potter films – in production as we speak – before seeking out future roles.

“This is the last installment and I want to a) give it my all and b) enjoy it because this time next year it will all be over, which is a very sad thought. I am really reveling in being the nasty guy for one last year.”

Tom Felton tells People of his trip to Sin City

Obviously what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay there, as Tom tells People Magazine of a past trip there in a recent interview. Tom also talks about playing cricket with his brother, long distance phone calls, and of course, that ubiquitous bonnet of his.

Though he often finds himself living in the shadow of Daniel Radcliffe’s heroic title character, British actor Tom Felton graduates to leading man status in the latest installment of the series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, as his character Draco Malfoy evolves from simple troublemaker into serious villain

As a result, the blond brusier, 21, tells PEOPLE, “I get a lot of boos from kids around the world. When kids visit on set they’re all happy to meet Dan and Rupert [Grint]. When I come out they have a blank face and don’t want to shake my hand … but I take that as a compliment.”

Even tougher than the snub is staying platinum blond. Since he was 13, the brunette roots of Felton’s hair are dyed every 10 days to maintain Malfoy’s signature shade, a task the actor admits is “not a pleasant experience. Now I understand what girls go through. I completely sympathize.”

Still, Felton’s “become oddly attached” to the result, he admits. “It’s fun to be blond, and it’s almost difficult to remember how I used to look with my proper hair color.”

Living outside of London near a small town called Dorking – where the roads are wide enough for only one car and filled with tractors, cows, horses – Felton finds himself far from the spotlights of Hollywood. “I’m a real big country boy,” he says. “I live right in the middle of nowhere and I thoroughly enjoy it. It’s nice for me at the end of the day to come home and enjoy the peacefulness of the country side.”

Among his favorites pastimes – besides singing, songwriting and playing acoustic guitar (his songs are featured on iTunes and at feltbeats.com, “and most of them are about my girlfriend,” he says) – is playing cricket in his back garden with his older brother. And though he disdains those who toss around their fame, Felton did enjoy a recent perk when he cruised past the lines at the airport. “That was pretty cool,” he admits.

As for being part of one of the most successful film franchises in history – this sixth installment made $396.7 million this weekend, shattering Spider-Man’s records – Felton is responsible with his finances but did indulge in a trip to Sin City.

“I took my friend to Vegas on my 21st birthday and we had a little splurge there,” he says. “But we won a little bit and it was enough to cover my long-distance phone calls back to my girlfriend.”
