Tom Felton at Hampstead Cricket Celebrity Match – a report by Emily

Yesterday we reported here that Tom was at a celebrity match at Hampstead Cricket Club. Emily met him there and now we have a little report from her about this wonderful day.

I arrived a The Cumberland Lawn Tennis club and Hampstead Cricket Club at around 1pm. The club’s chairman is the actor Jim Carter who is married to Imelda Staunton (Umbridge!!!) and every year they run a celebrity charity cricket match!

When I first arrived I was shaking, I honestly never thought I would have the chance to meet Tom! Tom was absolutely lovely and he signed autograph books and smiled for photographs with fans and cricket players of the club!

The match started and Tom bowled the first over! Although I know very little about cricket the game was very enjoyable to watch (probably because I was sitting just metres away from Tom)! There was also a BBQ, cake stalls, a craft stall and other activities which we enjoyed during the day!

At half time I was lucky enough to talk to Tom again! This time we chatted about Timber, his dog! I was all so unreal, Tom was so friendly and easy to talk to, not at all how you’d expect a celebrity to be! I also had the chance to meet and talk to actors from the ITV drama Downton abbey in the break!

The second half of the match was just as enjoyable as the first and Tom batted with style and scored many runs!

At the end of the match there was an auction and I was standing right next to Tom as various items were auctioned off! Tom was bidding for a framed photograph of all the Downton Abbey cast (he had told me earlier he was a fan of the show) but unfortunately after his bid of £350 was overtaken Tom resigned from the bid and it went to somebody else at £380 (BOOOO) 🙁 However Tom did buy some lovely flowers at the auction for £50 (a present for Jade maybe?)

Overall it was an unforgettable day and meeting Tom was the most magical thing! Dreams really do come true!

Thanks again to Emily!

And we have more photos of Tom with fans:

Auction on eBay – Photo of Tom Felton and a signed “Elephant Project” card

Tom signed an “Elephant Project” card and posed with the elephant beanie baby for a photo on Jared Eng birthday party.

Elephant Project” was started by David Niederhoffer after his grandfather passed away from Alzheimer’s disease. The organization collect photos and autographs from celebrities, which are then auctioned off in an Elephant Project auction package as part of the fundraising efforts of “The Elephant Project” to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.

Now you can bid on the autograph, the photo and an elephant beanie baby here at eBay.

The elephant is the symbol of the project because there is a phrase that says, “elephants never forget,” and in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease, we are striving for those afflicted with it to “never forget.”

New video of Tom Felton: “I could have made a good Hermione“

SugarScape published a new video of Tom from the press event for the grand opening for the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London this March.

Now Harry Potter has come to an end, Tom Felton has had to lay his alter ego Draco Malfoy to rest.

But we caught up with Tom at the Harry Potter studios, and couldn’t resist asking him if he’s anything like Draco after spending 10 years of his life playing the baddie.

Tom said: “I like to think we share nothing other than eye colour, and that’s about it. I’d say I’m about as ungentlemanly as not letting a car into the queue in front of you, that’s about as nasty as I get.”

Would he have wanted to play a less villainous character?

He said: “Yes and no. Yes I would love to have played Ron, I would love to have had a crack of the whip at Harry, lord knows I could have made a good Hermione. But obviously the reason I don’t want to play any of these characters is the ones that were cast were obviously the best possible.”
