In a short video featuring a variety of different stars including Tom’s “Harry Potter” cast mates Bonnie Wright and Rupert Grint, Nylon Magazine asked them what they think the Best Love Song is. You can catch Tom’s answer at 1:38.
And for those of you too young to melt into a puddle of fangirly goo and the rest of you that did at his choice, here it is. I always knew Tom was a smart man. 😉
At a little more than a minute into the session, someone asks, “Whose idea was it to get Draco Malfoy in the movie?” and Jonah tells a cute story of meeting Tom on the Harry Potter set:
That actually is a good story. So we were shooting in London for Russell’s… umm, umm… role (laughs), and I got invited to the set of the Harry Potter movie, which is awesome. Because they said they were fans of mine, so I went.
And as it turns out, Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy, was like a huge – Well, turns out, HE was the one that was like a big fan. It wasn’t everybody else who was a big fan. (laughs)
Which is awesome because he’s a great guy. So he was so nice, and we talked for a long time and I got a tour, and at that time we were asking many celebrities – we would ask them to come be in the film, so I was telling the director, I met Tom Felton who plays Draco Malfoy – do you want him in the movie? He was like, “Sure!”
So I called [Tom] and he was totally down. He let us make Harry Potter jokes, he was so awesome. He was great, he was so nice and so funny. It was cool he let us do that.
Thanks to TeamFelton and the “HeyUGuys” website, we now have the first storyboards from the WWII film starring Tom Felton, “Grace and Danger.”
Tom is set to play Carnaby, an American soldier who is described as a gentleman. In the movie, Carnaby and his fellow soldiers rescue a young woman named Élodie from a village massacre and plan to escort her back to safety. But during the perilous journey, the other soldiers seem to become quite “interested” in the girl, and Carnaby steps in to aid her.
The storyboards were provided to HeyUGuys by Rhys Hayward, who has written the screenplay and will also be directing the film. The storyboards were drawn by Tony Chance who was responsible for storyboarding “American Beauty” and more recently “Moby Dick.”
Also, the director has uploaded to the Facebook Fan page some additional photos taken during the filming of the development trailer, which was filmed last year to build interest in the film. Though they don’t include the real actors, they give you an idea of the professionalism and atmosphere of the planned film.
In a new interview with Snitchseeker.com, Warwick Davis – who plays Flitwick, Griphook, and several other characters in the Harry Potter franchise – talked about Tom Felton as the reason he signed up for Twitter.
He said:
Snitchseeker.com: Why did you join Twitter?
Warwick Davis: Why did I join Twitter? Because of Tom Felton. It was his fault. (laughs) Not his fault.
We were sitting there on set – we spend lots of time sitting – and I said, “What are you up to there, texting and texting?” and he said, “Oh no, I’m on Twitter.” And I said, “What is this Twitter about?” and then he started to explain it. I said, “They’re interested in what you do?” and he said, “Oh yeah, I’ve got loads of followers.” He told me the app to get and he told me how to do it and I started doing it. It was really good fun. It’s quite interesting collecting followers – “Ooh, I’ve got that many now.”
I follow him and few of the other Potters. James and Oliver are on there. Matt Lewis hasn’t done any tweeting for ages.
So that’s why I did it. I just want to let people know what I’m up to because people are interested. We do these Q&A’s – it’s normally Potter fans. I’ll spend half an hour, because I’m in between whatever I’m doing, and it’s just a Q&A. It’s fun. But it is all the Potter fans.
