Ashley Greene talks Tom Felton being big in Europe with MTV

It seems as if MTV likes to talk about Tom as much as we do, and in the latest interview from their Hollywood Crush, they talk with Ashley Greene, Tom’s co-star in his currently-on-hiatus-filming-until-he-crosses-the-pond film The Apparition. Listen as she talks about little they each know about the others fan-universe, and how while she is a relative unknown in Europe, Tom “can’t step out his front door.”

MTV News caught up with Ashley when she was promoting her film “Skateland” at SXSW, and she admitted that she and Tom are both well aware of the fan baggage they are bringing to their new film, though she said neither have actually watched the others’ films.

“We’re both not very familiar with each others’ films,” Ashley said. “We of course know what they are, but I was never a huge ‘Harry Potter’ watcher and I don’t think he’s watched ‘Twilight.’ We’re both very aware of the effect that they’ve had and how crazy it is.”

She said what they found easier to compare was how they as actors are received in the corners of the globe where their films are most popular.

“We did compare the difference between how big ‘Harry Potter’ is in the UK versus how big ‘Twilight’ is in the UK and LA and the difference between those two,” Ashley explained, “because he can actually walk around in LA whereas I can’t, and it’s flipped anywhere in the Europe. I can walk around and nobody cares who I am, but he can’t step out his front door.”

Rumor: Tom Felton to Appear at Magic Christmas in Paris on 18 December

Spotlight-Events.org has issued a video today stating that Tom will be appearing this coming 18 December at the Magic Christmas convention in Paris, France.  Thanks to anabel100 who answered my call for a quick translation, we learn that the convention will be held at Maison Internationale à Paris, and Tom is scheduled to appear along-side the French actors voicing the parts of Harry, Ron, and Hermione in the Harry Potter films. According to their forums, Tom is scheduled to be in attendance for two separate sessions that day.

Be aware that this event is still months and months away, and Tom’s filming schedule may prevent him from attending at any time. As soon as a firm confirmation of his appearance is made closer to the event, we will let you know.

Opening of Wizarding World of Harry Potter to be announced on 25 March

As we’ve previously reported, Tom Felton is scheduled to attend the grand opening of Universal Orlando Resorts Wizarding World of Harry Potter grand opening.  While Universal has released a short behind-the-scenes clip today featuring everyone but Tom, the clip ended with the announcement that all will be revealed next week.

Will the day the park opens be the same as the grand opening celebration Tom and co-star Bonnie Wright are scheduled to attend? When we know, you’ll know, until then – watch some Gryffindors. 😉

Tom Felton confirms makeup and not CGI will be used as aging for “Deathly Hallows”

Digital Spy got the exclusive scoop from Tom confirming that makeup, and not the use of CGI effects a la Benjamin Button will be used for the aging of Tom and fellow cast members Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 epilogue portion.

Tom Felton has revealed that the final Harry Potter films are “reveling” in J.K. Rowling’s source material.

Speaking to DS at the UK premiere for Remember Me, Felton admitted that the filmmakers are working closely from Rowling’s Deathly Hallows novel to bring the last movies to the screen.

“One of the great things about the last one is that we’ve managed to split it into two films. We have all the freedom to stick to the books exactly and revel in them and enjoy every page,” he said.

Discussing the ending of the film, which sees the main characters in their mid-30s, Felton said that the make-up work will be done without CGI.

“There’s a lovely moment at the end of the film where we’re all 35 years old, Dan [Radcliffe] and I are very excited to see each other as old men!” he commented. “They’re doing it with prosthetics, with me at least. No digital enhancements, it’s all real stuff. I’m hoping it’s going to be flattering, we’ll see!”
